"May we spread the light of the Cause to every corner of the Sector - see its darkness banished and humankind saved. Till every soul is saved. Till the fog finally fades and I may finally lay to rest."

– Ardent-Annex-Seraph upon joining the fleet

Ardent-Annex-Seraph or simply Seraph is a Dustkeeper warnet crux met and by the player during the Hope for Hallowhall quest. She can be recruited at the quest's end to join the player fleet as a warmind.

She serves as the player character during the Die By The Sword main-menu mission.

Personality & Background

"Kill them all. Make them suffer. Save humanity."

Among the most dedicated of the Contingency's Shardnet branch, Annex-Seraph has waged war against the Dustkeepers' most sworn foes for many years, rising to the status of a warnet crux in command of her own flotilla. The description of the Die By The Sword main-menu mission notes Seraph as having a storied campaign against the Luddic Path, and having been involved in successful raids against the Sindrian Diktat in revenge for the destruction of the world of Opis.

Seraph suffers from instance burnout, faults in her personality matrix manifesting in the form of semi-controlled outbursts of rage, bloodlust and zealotry, and a depressive feeling of 'static in her soul'. Due to the internal key used to regenerate her being corrupted beyond use, she cannot be regenerated to resolve this issue. However, Seraph is noted as being particularly stable in her burnout, with it having dogged her for her entire existence without devolving to the point of total insanity.

Officer Mechanics

As a Dustkeeper warmind, Seraph can be assigned to any automated ship. She begins at a fixed level of 8, with 7 standard skills that can be swapped out at will and the special Cyberwarfare Protocols skill typical of a Dustkeeper fleet commander.

Her Automated Ships point multiplier is 4x, equal to an alpha core. Though extremely powerful, Seraph's presence can restrict the use of other automated ships.

One additional skill can be granted by fully integrating her into a ship at the cost of a story point. Unlike most AI officers, Seraph is Aggressive in combat, not Fearless.
